Early Childhood Teacher-Mooroopna Kindergarten Vacancy-Job Ref: BJAUSTC/0604/202423

Mooroopna (Australia)

JOB DESCRIPTION
Our long-standing Mooroopna Kindergarten supports young children to develop their social skills, independence, and in turn their capacity to learn. We need you to give these children an experience of quality early childhood education, to develop their appetite for learning and help enable a smooth transition into school.

54 reasons is Australia’s leading child rights organisation – no ordinary not-for-profit.

Proudly part of the Save the Children Australia Group and global movement, we’re here to make sure that everyone understands their rights. So that children and young people have their rights met and thrive, in all their diversity.

We champion the children, young people and families we work with. We are inspired by the curiosity and creativity of children and motivated by the love of those who care for them.

With the child’s voice at the centre, we provide quality services to children and their caregivers, advocating with them so that children develop, learn, and are connected, safe and confident. Our people are proudly local, reflective of the communities we serve – in every state and territory, and across regions, remote areas and capital cities.

Where you come in:

In this permanent fulltime position based in Mooroopna, you’ll work with the Mooroopna Kindergarten team to develop, implement, and evaluate a high quality, developmentally and culturally appropriate play and learning environment for children. As part of our Northern Victoria team, you’ll work during school terms only and will report to our Team Leader, Early Childhood Education.

You will make an impact by:

Delivering a high-quality educational program for children attending the Mooroopna Kindergarten, consistent with the National Quality Framework and Early Years Learning Frameworks
Supporting the Educators in the delivery of a 3 and 4-year-old kindergarten program
Developing and maintaining respectful, supportive, collaborative, and responsive relationships with staff, children, and families
Actively supporting every child to participate in the program, promoting their agency, choices and influence

Does this sound like you?

You have experience in early childhood programs, a ‘toolkit’ of strategies, and the ability to think on your feet which allows you to find solutions to complex situations. Your infectious enthusiasm for your job will see you actively seeking out families in need of support, and you build rapport and relationships easily with children and adults from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families. You consider yourself a team player, you love partnerships and collaboration, and have an ‘all-hands-on-deck’ attitude.

This role requires:

An approved Early Childhood Teaching Qualification as approved by ACECQA (essential) and current VIT registration
Note: If you have a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and are currently working towards your Bachelor of Early Childhood Teaching, please get in touch!
Knowledge and/or experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of a high quality, developmentally appropriate education and care program
Knowledge and/or experience in the application of approved learning frameworks, in particular the Early Years Learning Framework
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
Working at 54 reasons is more than just a job.

Our workforce is approximately 1100people strong, and proudly diverse, whether in race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, sexuality, culturesand beliefs.
