Take the lead in 54 Reasons’ Back on Track program, an NT government initiative which aims to prevent youth crime, divert young people away from the youth justice system and provide alternatives to detention. We need you to lead a dedicated team to maximise the impact of our programs on the lives of young people, so we’re seeking someone with a passion for assisting our communities’ most vulnerable youth.

Where you come in:

In this full-time, fixed term position (until January 14th 2025, with potential for extension), based in Katherine, you will lead a team to deliver an exciting program focused on supporting young people to rethink their life choices and support them to become valued community members. You will be responsible for the operational running of activities, budget management and supporting your staff, including providing their professional supervision. As part of our NT Programs Team, you’ll report to our Katherine Regional Manager.

You will make an impact by:

Building and maintaining effective networks and relationships to promote programs, generate support and create effective referral pathways
Providing regular leadership to the program team through coaching and professional supervision
Managing relevant budgets and collecting data
Contributing to the strategic direction of the NT Programs Team
Monitoring program contracts (under guidance) to ensure contractual obligations are met

You work from a strength-based perspective and you’re someone who highly values the wellbeing of their staff. You’re a highly relational professional who genuinely enjoys being with people and has great respect for all cultures and backgrounds (particularly Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds). You have strong financial literacy, program management, and organisational skills, and have experience leading successful teams.

This role requires:

Experience working with diverse and disadvantaged communities with a youth focus
Working knowledge of the youth justice and education systems
A Diploma level certification (minimum) in a relevant field
Valid driver’s licence
Proven leadership skills, the ability to nurture a cohesive team
Current NT Ochre Card (Working With Children’s Check)
