Our Family Learning Club After-School Program is aimed at supporting primary school-aged children with their homework, particularly in literacy and numeracy.

Where you come in:
In this casual role, reporting to the Team Leader, you’ll work with a team of passionate and talented individuals to accomplish ambitious goals for our Family Learning Club afterschool program. As part of a team with Child Development staff, you’ll engage children, young people and families in a range of fun and educational activities. Aiming to create a safe and welcoming environment, you’ll work collaboratively with partner organisations, support program monitoring and evaluation and respond to child protection concerns.
You will make an impact by:
Building family capacity by using partnership, outcomes based, strengths’ perspective and client-centred approaches
Identifying where additional assistance and external services are required, providing appropriate information, support and referrals
Collaborating with team members to deliver the Play2Learn program
Promoting positive and culturally respectful approaches to parenting, and child and family wellbeing
Does this sound like you?
You have experience working with children and families, and the ability to think on your feet, which allows you to find solutions to complex situations. Your cultural knowledge will help you build strong connections with children and families from varying cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. You consider yourself a team player, and you have an ‘all-hands-on-deck’ attitude.
This role requires:
Ability to build partnerships with local families and stakeholders
Well-developed time management skills
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Diploma Community Services, Education, Childhood Development or a related area, or significant equivalent experience
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish goals collaboratively with families and team members
Ability to enter and maintain information and case notes in an electronic database
